Halloweekends Cp

On Sunday, October 11, 2015, bring your family and friends to Cedar Point!  You will earn valuable CEUs while you engage in active shooter response training in the morning, and then head two miles north into the park for the remainder of the day and evening to enjoy all that Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends has to offer.

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Registration

(Coffee, tea, and water provided)

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Active Shooter Response Training – You can never be too prepared!

(.2 CEUs – NCRA approved)

An active shooter (the term violent intruder can also be used) event involves one or more persons, typically using a firearm, engaging in a random or systematic shooting spree.  Traditional response to this type of incident has been to lockdown or shelter in place and wait for the police to arrive. While this type of response may have its advantages, case studies of several active shooter incidents have shown that using only this response has resulted in an increase in casualties.

Join Wood County Sheriff’s Office’s Captain Scott Frank as he walks each of us through ALICE.  ALICE is an acronym for five steps you can utilize in order to increase your chances of surviving a surprise attack by an active shooter:  Alert-Lockdown-Inform-Counter-Evacuate.  Captain Frank was trained in 2009 and certified by the ALICE Training Institute as an ALICE instructor. Since that time, he has trained several thousand attendees in educational, public service, and private sector environments.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Will Call for Cedar Point prepaid/preordered HalloWeekends Tickets and Raffle/Giveaways

If you are unable to attend the exciting CEU and training opportunity with Captain Scott Frank, please make arrangements to pick up all prepaid/preordered HalloWeekends tickets before 1:00 p.m. at Castaway Bay.  And drawings for great prizes and giveaways!  Please note:  As of 10/9/2015, the presale of Cedar Point tickets through OCRA has ended.  You can still partake in the HalloWeekend events with your OCRA family, but you will need to purchase your Cedar Point entrance tickets online through www.cedarpoint.com or in person at the gate.  Thank you!
