Ohio on Broadway?

OCRA members will dress to impress at NCRA's 2015 Annual Convention & Expo

Ohio on Broadway?  Will you be in NYC?

The National Court Reporters Association's 2015 Annual Convention & Expo is right around the corner and Ohio is going as "Chicago" for the Saturday night (August 1st) President's Party.  Incoming NCRA President Steve Zinone's party theme is "Broadway," so Ohio is going to show how strong we are and dress to impress!

What to wear?  Think 1920s, from dressing up for a night on the town, gangsters, zoot suits, and flappers.  Some have compared it to the same fashion as you’d see in Great Gatsby.  You can do it simple or go over the top!  OCRA Past President Yolanda Walton's advice:  Ladies, any black dress you have and beads.  Guys, a tux if you have one, or any other suit!

Please email OCRA at info@ocraonline.com if you will be in New York City and provide your preferred contact method (phone or email).  A list of all Ohio attendees will be compiled and a message will be sent directing you where to meet for the annual "Ohio at NCRA" group picture on Saturday, August1st!  Don't miss out on this memory!

BE INFORMED AND VOTE:  NCRA Bylaws Amendments

OCRA is committed to keeping you up to date on what is happening in the profession.  To that end, we would like to remind those of you who also belong to the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) of a very important vote coming up on July 30th in conjunction with the Annual Convention & Expo in New York City.

There are seven proposed Constitution and Bylaws amendments being put to a vote of the NCRA membership this year, including one which would grant Certified Licensed Video Specialists (CLVS) members voting rights in the association.

All voting members of NCRA may vote online during a 12-hour window, beginning within two hours after the close of NCRA's Annual Business Meeting.  In order to be eligible to vote online, your email address must have been on file with NCRA by July 15.  If you receive communications from NCRA currently, you will receive an email when the online voting process begins.

Be sure to look for that email next Thursday, July 30th, and VOTE...VOTE...VOTE!  This is your association and your profession!  Let your voice - your vote - be heard!
