In Memory of Alicia B. Hardin

March 12, 1934 - May 19, 2016

Alicia Hardin died suddenly on Thursday, May 19, because she couldn't wait any longer to be with her husband, Don Hardin.

Born Ann Alicia, she was the middle child of Esther and Morton Bobb in Columbus. The strong, educated women in Lisa's family had a tremendous influence on her. She was especially close to her great-aunt, the artist Alice Schille, and spent many hours as a stand-in model in formal portraits of other children while Alice told stories. Lisa attended The Ohio State University School for elementary and high school. She was a third-generation OSU graduate, receiving her Bachelor's degree in Radio and TV Speech in 1956. While at OSU, she was a member of the Alpha Gamma chapter of the Kappa Alpha Theta women's fraternity and the president of the campus YWCA.

She also met Don Hardin, a handsome, dark-haired ROTC student. They fell in love and married just after Valentine's Day in 1957. Don and Lisa moved to Cincinnati in 1958. Lisa taught first-grade for a few years, then raised her four children. She was active in the Junior League, Garden Club, Bar Association Auxiliary, and many PTAs, and served as a docent for the Art Museum. Lisa reentered the workforce in the 70s, and became the president of Ace Reporting Services. She led the firm for more almost 40 years.

Lisa was most proud of her six grandchildren. She was happiest spending time at home with Don, watching movies, listening to music, and drinking wine while Don cooked. Together, they endured the early passing of their eldest son, Geoff. Lisa will be terribly missed by her children and their spouses, Jennifer and Rob Flesch, David and Kelly Hardin, and Matthew and Dianne Hardin, and her six grandchildren, Shelby Elizabeth (Zachary Taylor), Samuel Adam, Rachel McKenzie, Olivia Paris, and Madison Alaina Hardin, and Alex Michael Flesch, brother and sister-in-law, John and Janis Bobb, and her nieces and nephews, as well as her many close friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Geoffrey Hardin memorial fund at the Cincinnati Parks Foundation. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home followed by a service. Burial at Spring Grove Cemetery.
