POSTPONED: 2020 OCRA Annual Conference - Information regarding COVID-19

The 2020 Annual Conference scheduled March 27-29 has been postponed until September 11-13, 2020

Based upon the Ohio Department of Health’s March 12 Director’s Order limiting and/or prohibiting mass gatherings in the state of Ohio of 100 or more persons, and as a result of the overwhelming concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), the 2020 Annual Conference – OCRA’s Centennial Celebration – must be postponed.

Ohio Governor DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Husted have declared Ohio Court Reporting and Captioning Week February 8-15, 2020. The week-long event will highlight the many aspects of court reporting and captioning that make it a viable profession, including good salaries, flexibility, interesting venues, and the increasing demand for more reporters and captioners to meet the growing number of employment opportunities available in the field.

CALL TO ACTION: OCRA members requested to provide public comments on new Notary Public provisions

The Ohio Notary Public Modernization Act (Ohio Senate Bill 263, 132nd General Assembly) was signed into law by Governor Kasich on December 19, 2018.  The provisions under the Act will become effective on September 20, 2019. Draft Administrative Rules have been released by the Secretary of State and allow for public comments through Wednesday, May 15th.
